Secure Your Promotion Before the Syllabus Shifts

From January 2026, the British Judo Association is introducing a new Technical and Competitive grading syllabus—expanded to include additional techniques and kata, aligning with other IJF-affiliated NGBs.

Anyone who completes their Dan Grade examination before January—regardless of points or time in grade—will not need to retake or pass the revised syllabus. That makes this grading day both a milestone, and a chance to lessen to longevity of the time of the journey to promotion.
