Coach

Our Lead Performance Coach Sarah Barritt has had a fantastic career in Judo and now leads the way for our Talent Development Squad.

Some of Sarah’s accolades include.

  • IJF UCJI qualified coach
  • BJA Level 2 coach & matside award
  • Narrowly missed out in the bronze medal match at 2022 Commonwealth games for NI
  • Multiple Continental Open, European and All Ireland medallist
  • British Championships medallist (including gold) multiple times
  • 8 years on the GB Senior Squad
  • Full time training judoka at both the British Judo Centre for excellence and Camberley Judo club from 2016 – 2024.

 

Not only that, she is passionate about offering opportunities for young Judoka and developing the level of Judo across Northern Ireland for all

Club: Judo Academy

Competition Weight: JR & SR – 100KG

Competition Highlights: Quinn has had an exceptional start to the year and is currently ranked within the top 10 of the GB Ranking lists. Some of his 2025 highlights so far are Gold at the North West Open, a Silver at the NI Open and a Silver at the Venray International. Recently placed 7th in the Amman Asian Open and world ranked.

Club: Limavady Judo Club

Competition Weight: +70KG & +78KG

Competition Highlights: Willow has had strong performances this year after returning from a break. Taking Gold in the Cadet girls +70 and Bronze senior +78kg at the North West Open. Willow also won Bronze in the Cadet Girls +70 and Silver in the Senior women +78kg.

Club: Causeway Judo Club

Competition Weight: Cadet & Junior -73kg

Competition Highlights: Robert is a young and up and coming player in a very tough weight division. Robert has had some exceptional performances taking Bronze at the British Schools Championships and 5th places at the NI Open, Scottish Open and NW Open. Robert is also a qualified referee.

Club: The Judo Academy

Competition Weight: Junior & Senior -81kg

Competition Highlights: Aodhan has had some strong performances this year and taken a bronze at the North West Open at -73kg before stepping up a weight division to the male -81kg and taking a respectable 7th place at the Venray International. Recently placed 7th in the Amman Asian Open and world ranked.

Club: The Judo Academy

Competition Weight: Junior & Senior -73kg

Competition Highlights: Conall has excelled this year and is currently ranked within the top 20 of the GB ranking lists. Conalls performances so far for 2025 include a silver at the All Ireland University Championships, a silver at the NI Open and a 7th place at the Venray International. Recently placed 7th in the Amman Asian Open and world ranked.

Club: The Judo Academy

Competition Weight: -66KG

Competition Highlights: Ewan has had a strong start to 2025 securing his place at the European University Championships and the only Judoka representing NI at this event. Recent successes include a Bronze at the British University Championships, Gold at the All Ireland University Championships and a Bronze at the North West Open.

Club: Omagh Judo Club

Competition Weight: -70KG

Competition Highlights: 

Rachel is an established and world ranked competitor. Narrowly missing out on a Commonwealth Games 2022 bronze. She is a 2x Gold, 4x Silver, 2x Bronze Continental Open medallist – European Cup Gold in Riga, Grand Prix & Grand Slam competitor – Competed at the 2023 World Championships in Doha
