Dan Grading June 2026

The next NIJF Dan Grade Promotional Examination will take place on Sunday 7th June 2025

The grading is open to 1^st Kyu (brown belt) judoka and above.

This will be a Multi-grade event where Dan grade judoka can compete against lower Dan grades. An ippon win against the same or higher grade is worth 10 points and 5 points for an Ippon win against lower grades.

For women this is extended to 1^st Kyu judoka. If a female Dan grade scores ippon against a 1^st Kyu judoka 5 points are awarded, but 10 points for an Ippon from the same or higher grade. A win by Waza-ari earns 5 points unless against a lower grade which scores zero. Under the new rules (January 2026) to qualify for a line-up the first two contests must be won by Ippon.

Judoka wishing to take part in this grading must have an ‘in date’ Judo licence and pre-register by completing the online booking below.

If there are insufficient entries in a category this fee will be reduced or refunded.

Online entries close midday Thursday 4th June and cash entries on the day will be charged £30.00
