Kata Courses With Martin Savage

🥋 Chikara Judo – Kata Weekend with Martin Savage

Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March
Open to: 1st & 2nd Kyu, 1st–3rd Dan, and Coaches

Chikara Judo is hosting a two‑day Kata training and examination weekend with Martin Savage, offering judoka the chance to complete essential Kata requirements for Dan grade progression and potential coaching revalidation.

Both days have been officially approved as:
“A British Judo Association Licensed Coach Educational / Revalidation Course.”

All events are open to NIJF, IJA, and BJA members.

 

📅 Day One – Saturday 14th March

Nage-no-Kata & Katame-no-Kata

Saturday focuses on the two Kata required for 1st Dan and 2nd Dan candidates:

  • Nage-no-Kata
  • Katame-no-Kata

Ideal for anyone preparing for grading or wishing to refine their technical understanding under expert instruction.

📅 Day Two – Sunday 15th March

Ju-no-Kata

Sunday is dedicated to Ju-no-Kata, required for 3rd Dan candidates.
A valuable opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge and meet higher‑level grading expectations.


🎓 Kata Examination Requirement

To successfully progress to your relevant black belt grade, you must complete the appropriate Kata examination.
Please note: Kata exam fees are paid directly to the British Judo Association and are separate from the event cost.

The cost depends on which Kata sessions you wish or need to complete:

One Kata course on Saturday ÂŁ35.00 Kata course only
Both Kata courses on Saturday ÂŁ65.00 Light lunch + tea/coffee
All three Kata courses (Sat + Sun) ÂŁ85.00 Light lunch + tea/coffee

 

Both days are approved as BJA Licensed Coach Educational / Revalidation Courses.
