Pathway Squad & Academy Session
Sunday 26th November 12.15-1.45pm, Lisburn Racquets Club (Academy & Pathway together)
Combining the sessions, our lead coach will be developing all skills in a holistic session whilst assessing player progress in both fitness and skillsets with the long term goal of representation at competitions and events.
Then, as part of the NIPS athlete education program, and progressing from the Physical Fitness testing, the next NIPS session will include an introductory workshop by Ciaran May, focusing on how our minds work and how stress affects us physically.
Ciaran is a former international power lifter and is now a ‘Mindset’ and ‘Human Performance’ Coach.
Ciaran has worked with some of the top athletes in the country to help them improve their confidence and self belief.
The main focus will be on recognising these factors, how they may affect our performance on the mats, and delivering some simple strategies on how to control these stressors and improve performance.
This is an introductory session and going forward, Ciaran will be working with some of our athletes in smaller groups and on an individual basis to help Northern Ireland Judo strive to develop and improve performances.
