Our Adaptive Session took place on Sunday and it was more than just a session on the mat, as all of the Judoka got a free ticket to Exploris as well!
The Adaptive Sessions are now in full structure with Jim Toland and Mark Spence leading the way, ably assisted by Peggy Magee who was the host for the session on Sunday.
As a Federation our mission is to make everyone welcome on the mats and open the door to the benefits of Judo to one and all across the Province.
Russell Brown, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Judo Federation said:
“I had the privilege of visiting the NIJF Adaptive Judo session yesterday, which was hosted by Portaferry School of Judo. As you can see from the photos, it was a great enjoyable session, I never seen so many smiling faces taking part. The session itself was led by Adaptive Judo Squad Co lead Coaches, Jim Toland and Marc Spence, who were both ably assisted by Peggy Magee, our newest Adaptive Judo Squad assistant coach. We would also like to thank local coach Mark Montgomery, who freely gave his time to help out.
I would also like to mention and wholeheartedly thank both Paula and Geraldine for their unstinting work looking after refreshments for all the parents and visitors!”
The Adaptive Sessions are kindly sponsored by Driver Training Ni and yo u can find out more about them here.
They will also be sponsoring our Adaptive and V.I. Open in May, and details of this will be available shortly.
