One of the Federations longest serving members Kathleen Keaveney was recently awarded her honorary black belt.
Kathleen has been integral in the growth and development of the Omagh and Fintona clubs, promoting the sport of Judo, looking after the wellbeing of all the members and she celebrates nearly 30 years involved in Judo.
For Kathleen, it’s the kids that are the future of Judo and she has been part of the club for so long as “she wouldn’t see kids without Judo and the great work it does”.
Russell Brown, Chairman of the NIJF presented the belt and said:
“Every honorary belt deserves credit, but this one is especially poignant as Kathleen has put so much into her club and those within it. She has offered selfless devotion and sums up the true spirit of Judo.
I was delighted to present her the award, you can’t say Omagh and Fintona without thinking of Kathleen!”
Well done Kathleen on behalf of all of our Members!
