The Northern Ireland Judo Board of Directors would like to inform the membership and the further Judo family of the resignation of Ciaran Ward, Lead Performance Coach for the Northern Ireland Judo Federation.
Ciaran has been a part of the team for over six years, leading from the front and affording our talent development and performance team the best opportunities to improve, whilst bring a multitude of medals back to Northern Ireland including two recently at the last Commonwealth Games.
Russell Brown, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Judo Federation said:
“The sad loss of Ciaran will leave a gap in the coaching team; and the players will surely miss his guidance and support. However, his legacy will always be with us, and we are determined to keep the high standards he has set for our performance athletes and filter this down into our clubs.
On behalf of myself, the board, and the wider Northern Ireland Judo Federation I would like to wish Ciaran all the best in the future and offer our thanks for his service, devotion and the difference he made here.”
