We are delighted to announce, that after a lot of work behind the scenes, the team of Russell Brown, Mark Donald and Robin Newett supported by the NIJF Board have secured a substantial amount of funding courtesy of the Rank Foundation for the creation of employment.
This funding will enable us to add to our workforce with the appointment of an entry level position for three years with a view to extend, increasing the opportunities and access to Judo across Northern Ireland both in schools, clubs and un-tapped geographical areas.
This in turn will enable us to add to our membership and make Judo a recognisable sporting force both at high performance and grass roots levels across the province.
The position will work with existing clubs and new club creation, and in turn open the Dojo doors for the communities and their residents around schools and these clubs to benefit from the involvement in Judo, both physically and for their mental wellbeing.
The Enhancement Officer will also work with clubs to assist them with development, funding, networking and showcase opportunities and any innovations.
The position being created will also allow us to work on the benefits and development of our current membership both in a strategic and a hands on platform and create access to learning, development and competition opportunities for both coaches, club volunteers and the Judoka themselves.
We are looking forward to this new position and it’s with confidence that we look to the future for our Federation and the opportunities that will unfold over the next three years of their appointment and beyond.
