On the 17th November over 25 Volunteers from the Northern Ireland Judo Federation headed into Glenariff Forest Park for a Volunteer ‘Thank You’ Day.
The event which finished with a bumper prize draw (kindly sponsored by Flahavans, Movie House Cinemas, Boyles Spar and Cimac) in the Laragh Lodge, was put into place by the NIJF to thank all the volunteers for their continued hard work within their clubs which often goes unseen but is very much appreciated.
Representatives came from clubs throughout Northern Ireland and there was a chance to enjoy some fun exercises including Tai Chi, a rock, paper and scissors championship, then time to network and share good practice and ideas of how to counter the common issues all clubs face.
The feedback has been excellent, and it seems a fantastic time was had by all, with wonderful scenery and fun on the agenda.
Vicki Kennedy, CWO from the NIJF said:
“Volunteers had the chance to meet other people they didn’t know and share experiences and ideas whilst enjoying themselves. Networking events like this are great to showcase and recognise all the hard work the volunteers and clubs have been doing.
Once again, we’d like to extend our thanks to all the Volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to attend and for their continued hard work.”
