A long-standing figure in our clubs and as an event volunteer, we’re delighted to let everyone know that Frances Robertson has been included as a member of the Northern Ireland Judo Federation Board of Directors.
As a mental health nurse for over two decades, Frances brings with her a wealth of experience in mental health and wellbeing, something that she is passionate about sharing with the membership across the province, with a vision of empowering them with their own “toolkit” to have a full understanding of wellbeing and mental health for all ages.
Creating a better understanding of wellness of the mind, isn’t the only task that Frances will be undertaking…
In her role, Frances will also deliver the UKAD compliance, keeping Judo clean and accredited as a sport leading the way in anti-doping. This will be from club level through to the competitive players at representative levels.
Already, Frances has compiled additional information and completed an audit with UKAD which has been passed as successful, ensuring that we are up to date with the most recent information to pass onto the membership.
In fact, towards the end of the year, Frances will be creating workshops for both mental health learning and anti-doping compliance and these will be rolled out to the clubs to join in with.
As Frances finds her feet and gets things moving in the right direction, we’re sure you’ll all join us in welcoming her to the team and wishing her all the best in the role.
